ABOUT
Ellinor grew up in a small town outside of Stockholm, Sweden, with her mum, dad and younger brother. She loved sports from an early age much thanks to her parents and she tried as many of them as she could growing up: everything from gymnastics to ice hockey finally settling for handball as her favorite. When Ellinor was about 9 years old her family went to see Grease at a theatre in Stockholm and from that moment on she was hooked. Everyday after school she would spend in front of the mirror as Sandy or Danny singing her heart out. At any other time, like school or practice or family dinners she would try to make people around her laugh to the point of it being annoying. She started by using her physic, voice and mimicking and that’s continued to be her strong suit. Later when she would study acting, she choose to take physical comedy/commedia dell’Arte as her elective in her senior year. As the years went by, she got to see more theatre and musicals and added songs and comedy to her afternoon repertoire. When she started high school, she specialized in math and science but was able to add a drama course within her studies. It was during her high school drama experience she understood that this was actually something she could try to pursue. Instead of going into engineering school she moved to New York to go to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. For a girl from a small town with only 1 traffic light New York City was a crazy adventure to say the least. Ellinor is incredibly grateful for her time at The Academy and wants to thank her teachers and friends for all the amazing moments they shared. In her second year they got to work more in front of the camera and even try out to be the crew. Up until that point theatre was Ellinor´s main focus but through the work behind the camera and the encouragement of amazing teacher Jennifer Leigh Mann, she started to gain interest for directing. So much so that after graduating she wrote, produced, directed and even acted a little bit in her first short film “To You” which now been part of 4 international film festivals. After 3 years in New York she moved back home and is now continuing her career in Sweden with a few rolls in short films and theatre workshops. Some of her favorite rolls have been “Guiderius” in Shakespeare´s “Cymbeline”, “Yelena” in Chekov´s “Uncle Vanya” and “Catherine” in “Proof” by David Auburn. Ellinor dreams about one day be able to work in Sweden as well as abroad (New York City will always be her second home). She wants to do it all; to make people laugh from the stage and make them feel through her storytelling behind and in front of the camera and maybe even sing and produce a little bit too.
